Contract bottling and sale of spirit to the aforesaid organizations has provided us with better opportunities to explore our potential in the industry.
An extensive sales and marketing network is established throughout the Country with a very efficient and highly motivated sales force who drive our company spirits all over.
The In-House Co-Generation Power plant gives us opportunity to be power sufficient and generate additional revenue by sale of surplus power to the State Government. With an expansionary vision we diversified into the business of Hydro-Power Generation in the regions of both Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

The annual growth rate of the company at present is around 15%. Also, we cater our services to more than 20% of the country liquor market in Punjab.

It was in 1988 when traveling down the muddy lane which leads to the village Banur, District Patiala, a young lad of 24, Mr. Amit Modi, the Managing Director, with big dreams in his eyes selected a piece of land to start his dream project, with firm conviction in his belief. Who knew, some day, this unpromising location would boost to house the largest single Distillery unit of the Country producing potable alcohol. For this independent group of blenders and purveyors the site provided perfect support wherein the distillery could be built and operated to provide an access to spirit used throughout the country. The spirit produced is consistently of high quality and at a price very well controlled. After identifying the site and establishing the vision for this new venture, Mr. Amit Modi put into place his dream project, Chandigarh Distillers & Bottlers Limited, in the month of April 1989, as an IMFL Bottling Plant with the capacity of only two bottling conveyors housed in a small hall, only for the state of Punjab. In less than two years, distillery was commissioned in September 1991 with a small plant for Rectified Spirit Production with a capacity of 15 KLPD. The Rectified Spirit plant was further enhanced several times to the capacity of 35 KLPD and Extra Neutral Alcohol plant with the capacity of 20 KLPD was also added to the young CDBL. Later in the pleasant month of October, we obtained our first allocation of country liquor quota. The distillation capacity has now been expanded many times since then, thereby increasing the alcohol production and improving its quality. Today we have the capacity to produce 330KL alcohol per day. Another major step to success and recognition was climbed up in 1993 when a long term agreement was made with McDowell & Company Ltd. of UB Group for bottling their various IMFL brands. It marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company. Then their came a moment of content when we built our own corporate office in Chandigarh. It was in the year 1997. We can today say with proud that ours is one of the best corporate offices constructed and designed in the City Beautiful. We have always believed to upgrade our technology to improve our quality services. For this we have been introducing new utilities to facilities. We make sure that the operations of different processes in the company do not suffer through because of any technically laid back equipment. The In-House Power Generation established in the year of 2000-2001 at Banur had been of a great advantage to both the company and the local crowd at the village. Various utilities have also been built up to commensurate with production requirements. We established our own panel room to ease out the work, which can now be supervised from a single room. A new wash plant for ENA has been commissioned. New automation in bottling units, new turbine panel room, DM plant, RT7 Biodigestor has also been introduced with newer changes and advanced systems. Presently we have state of art facility to produce 4.0 lakh cases of IMFL and 3.0 lakh cases of country liquor. The company has also added an indigenous grain milling system to improve the effectiveness of processes. With our sincere efforts and ready-to-face-challenges attitude we are today amongst the largest distillers in India.

Mr. Amit Modi is the driving force behind the Company, a young energetic man with a vision to create a business empire. Mr. Amit Modi started the business by establishing a small Bottling Plant in the year 1987 and subsequently, set up a Distillery Unit in the year 1991 with a small capacity of 15 KLPD, which has now been enhanced over the years to 330 KLPD. The Company under his dynamic leadership have been in profits from the very beginning and have achieved consistent growth. He spearheads, the Company’s management and operations, strategizing & directing it to reach new heights.
He is a commerce graduate and has sharp business acumen. He has further sharpened his business skills by attending family owned entrepreneur’s training program (Owner/president Management Program) in Harvard University, USA for 2 years completed during the year 2003 – 2004.
Mr. Amit Modi brings to the Company strong leadership skills, vigor and a passion for excellence. He believes in nurturing a culture that is entrepreneurial, result oriented, customer focused and based on team work. He has experience of over 25 years in managing large scale business.
Mr. Amit Modi is being assisted by a team of professionals in the area of production, finance, secretarial, marketing, liaisoning and projects by qualified and experienced professionals.
Chandigarh Distillers & Bottlers Ltd. was established in the year 1989. Initially the Company was into the bottling of Indian made foreign liquor for the state of Punjab. Over a period of time the company has successfully ventured into various grades of Spirits i.e. Extra Neutral Alcohol,Rectified Spirit and Industrial Alcohol. At present, CDBL is amongst the largest distilleries in India. The Company has a tie-up with the largest liquor company for bottling their products for Northern India.
We manufacture Grain Alcohol – Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) and Rectified Spirits (RS). It is a matter of pride that CDBL has one of the largest capacities for producing Grain Alcohol in India.
We are one of the largest single unit producers of Potable grade alcohol i.e. Extra Neutral Alcohol and Rectified Spirit. We are supplying our products throughout the country including to the big liquor companies.
We are also producing the Industrial Alcohol which is supplied to Chemical/Pharma Manufacturers.
A glorious chapter in the growth of CDBL was started, when a long-term tieup was started with McDowell & Co. (U.B. Group) to bottle their various IMFL Brands in our unit in the year 1993. It is a matter of prestige that we are now bottling premium brands like McDowell No. 1 and RTD's (Ready to Drink alcoholic beverages).
CDBL was determined to make its presence felt in the prestigious lucrative country liquor market of Punjab. With concerted efforts, over the next few years, CDBL was able to strengthen its foot hold in the country liquor market of Punjab and was able to achieve 28-29% share of the Country Liquor market.
In the last 4-5 years, CDBL has made serious efforts and have successfully launched its IMFL brands like Big Boss Whisky, After 7 Whisky and High Power XXX Rum in the Punjab and Chandigarh market.
The company has recently installed Two Driers with integrated decanters to manufacture DDGS (Distillery Dry Grain Sludge). This DDGS is packed in standard packaging of HDPE bags. This product contains proteins and has a good demand by Cattle Farming and Poultry Farms. DDGS has long shelf life and can be easily stored and transported even to far off places. With addition of DDGS as a by-product, the company has added another revenue stream.

Following are the functional areas of Operations at the company (distillery):
CO-GENERATION POWER PLANTS: The Company has installed In-house Co-Generation Power Plants at Village Banur, Tehsil Mohali, District SAS Nagar, Punjab with capacity aggregating to 12 MW. It fulfills all the electricity requirements at the distillation plant, supporting various operations. Surplus Power is being sold to the State Government and it is yet another accomplishment for us.
EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT: We have the most modern facility to convert our waste to value added products. We are converting all the biodegradable waste to produce Bio-Gas, which in turn is used as a fuel in our boilers. The high pressure steam generated from our boilers is then utilized to generate power. This power is captivly used to run our operations and surplus is exported to the state government. CDBL is very conscious about its responsibilities on environmental/social front.

The distillery at village Banur spreads out in an approximate area of 60 acre. The distillation capacity has been expanded many times to 330KL per day thereby increasing the alcohol production and simultaneously improving the quality of our ENA/RS. Our operations have the flexibility to produce the finest quality of alcohol from various sources like molasses, broken rice, sorghum, millets etc. Various utilities have also been built to commensurate with our present production requirements. With the Bottling capacity in both IMFL and PML sections to more than 4.0lakh cases each/ month we are the most favored partners for the other recognized companies in the industry, whom we provide our services to.
The R&D Team is responsible for the total quality control and for maintaining the current status / image of the company. To them we give freedom to re-search the ideas and the competition in the market and see if there is a demand for the same. It controls and takes necessary corrective actions to ensure that all government schedules are properly carried out on time and all materials used are from approved sources.
R&D at each section undertakes the administration of all requirements and standards stipulated by the regulatory authorities from time to time. It helps to create an upper-hand over other competitors in the market through its maintained quality procedures.

The commercial department handles all the purchase requirements of the entire respective units in the distillation plant as well as in the corporate office. It help us with all the superior quality of goods or services required at various levels in different processes involved either in production or otherwise.
This department refers to the business of attempting to acquire goods or services to accomplish the goals of the enterprise. They help us in commercial evaluation, technical evaluation, several negotiations related to buying of raw material or any other necessary commodity for the company.
Aqua Power Private Limited (APPL), was incorporated on 10.08.1999 and registered with the Registrar of Companies, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. The registered office of APPL is located at MHP Chakbhai KA, Chak Da Pull, VPO Moom, District Barnala, Punjab. The company is engaged in the generation of electricity from Mini Hydel Projects at three locations in the state of Punjab on the Bhatinda Branch Canal at Chakbhai, Lohgarh and Sidhana sites. The power produced is sold to PSEB.

Kurmi Energy Private Limited was incorporated as a private limited company on 27th September, 2007 with the registered office at House No.99, Sector 3, New Shimla, Shimla.
Kurmi Energy Private Limited is developing a small hydro project of 8 MW capacity.
The project is located in district Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on Nanti khad upstream of 22 MW Ghanvi project of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board.
Cyberwalk Tech Park Pvt. Ltd. has constructed an IT Park on a 10 Acres plot in Sector 8, Manesar, Haryana. It has a total build up area of 11 Lac Sq. Ft. comprising office and residential complex at an estimated cost of Rs. 350 Crores. It has the working space for about 10000 employees. The IT Park is ready for occupancy.
