Our background began in the Thames Valley dealing with engineering companies in Culham, Milton Park and Harwell. This rapidly grew in into Berkshire, Hampshire and Cambridgeshire.

We have experience spanning a range of industries including SPM, medical devices, instrumentation, consumer electronics, oil & gas and advanced manufacturing. Today we focus on the South East as a whole with a discipline specific focus. Our key geographies include:

• Oxfordshire
• Cambridgeshire
• Berkshire and Hampshire

When Derwent Associates was founded, we never intended to re-invent the wheel. Instead we were founded on premise that the high-technology engineering & product design sector required a different approach to recruitment. For 3 reasons:

1. Innovation - Although the basics of recruitment are the same, due to the industry’s diversity it is impossible to take a ‘one-size fits all’ approach.

2. Service - The market has become saturated with agencies offering the same proposition. This has detracted from true customer service.

3. Representation - The engineering SME market has not had a high profile in the UK compared with other markets such as financial services, media and energy. We passionately believe that both the companies and engineers have more to offer.
